SBR Scarves

I was trying to think of something special to make for some very dear people for Christmas. And suddenly it came to me. I decided to crochet scarves for each of the interns at the Stockbridge Boiler Room. But they had to be special. I had all kinds of bits and pieces of yarn that I wanted to incorporate into this project. And I thought about how the Boiler Room was a vehicle to bring together people of different nationalities, different income levels, and different upbringings. There are excecutives eating dinner with the hoboes. There are people from the upper east side having meaningful conversation with people who sleep under the bridge. And all of these people were signified with the varied colors and textures of each fiber that I had. All of these different cultures being crocheted together into something beautiful and warm. I made 12 of these scarves. I just crocheted 15 rows, each one in a different color and texture. One scarf for each of the interns and one for each family member of the couple who dreamed up the SBR. It was so fun to make each of the scarves. And I felt so good about giving the gifts. And I think everyone liked them.

So basically, the point is that everyone has a purpose and can be used for the better good. Sometimes we just need to wait to see what that purpose is.
